MONICA TRASANDES is a Los Angeles-based writer. Born in Uruguay, her family relocated to the U.S. in the ’70s and she grew up in San Diego. She has an MFA in Creative Writing from Emerson College in Boston, and works as Director of Spanish-language media at GLADD. Her short stories have been published in journals such as The Sun, and magazines like The Rake in Minneapolis, and have been anthologized. Her novel, “Broken Like This,” is to be published by Thomas Dunne Books in Spring, 2012.
