Amy Heidish

A native of Huntsville, Alabama, Amy Heidish earned a BFA in Film

Production at Florida State University.

She made her playwrighting debut with the one act, The Honorary Picker Upper in the P6 show: re: LAX – Stories from an Airport. Amy then wrote and produced for P6 her first full-length play Dead Girl’s Diary in spring 2002 at The Actors Lab in Hollywood, which landed a Backstage West 2002 Garland citation for Carol Shannon’s performance as “Maddy.” Her subsequent film adaptation of the play was optioned by Nostromo Films. Another of her feature screenplays, One Night, a teenage version of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, was optioned by producer Ilyssa Goodman (A Cinderella Story).

Heidish has contributed one-act plays in the P6 holiday shows Christmastime is Queer (2002), Christmastime is Queer Again (2003) and Christmastime is Queer 3Naked Christmas (2004). Her second full-length play The Big Ever After was a co-production between P6 and The ARK Theatre Company and was chosen LA Weekly Critic’s Pick of the Week in March 2005.
