<p><strong><img src="http://therumormill.us/wp-content/uploads/image/Monica%20Trasandes.JPG" alt="" width="200" height="150" align="left" hspace="5" vspace="5" />MONICA TRASANDES </strong>is a Los Angeles-based writer. Born in Uruguay, her family relocated to the U.S. in the &#8217;70s and she grew up in San Diego. She has an MFA in Creative Writing from Emerson College in Boston, and works as Director of Spanish-language media at GLADD. Her short stories have been published in journals such as <em><strong>The Sun</strong></em>, and magazines like <strong><em>The Rake</em></strong> in Minneapolis, and have been anthologized. Her novel, <strong>&#8220;Broken Like This,&#8221;</strong> is to be published by Thomas Dunne Books in Spring, 2012.</p>
<p>Trasandes, a P6 founding member is one of the featured writers in Wanted: Writers! a Literary Reading Series. This event is free and open to the public at the Rumours Coffee House/Gallery/Performance Space, 11739 West Washington Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90066, Wednesday, August 17, from 7pm -930pm.</p>

<p>Good news from Mil Nicholson and Gary Bullock &#8212; P6ers of many, many years, now in the mountains of North Carolina.</p>
<p>Gary just won <strong>first place</strong> in the Appalachian Film Festival Screenplay Competition with Elsewhen   &#8216;developed in P6&#8242;.  Gary thanks everyone who took part in the readings, and everyone else who participated in comments. Gary now owns the golden apple.</p>
<p>Mil&#8217;s Charles Dickens free recordings, with character voices, have now reached 24,000 downloads &#8212; and with fan mail arriving regularly. Who&#8217;d have thought!</p>

<p>Lab writer David Duman&#8217;s comedic web series VLOG STAR (<a href="http://www.vlogstarshow.com/" target="_blank">www.vlogstarshow.com</a>) will be screened this weekend at the second annual LA Web Fest on Saturday during the third Saturday block, 12:30-1:55PM on 3/26. The Festival is at Stage 52 in Mid-City, 5299 W. Washington Blvd, between Fairfax and La Brea. The Web Fest goes on all weekend and there are interesting screening blocks and panels that are useful for all writers, actors and producers interested in web-based content (<a href="http://www.lawebfest.com/" target="_blank">www.lawebfest.com</a>).</p>

<p>&#8220;Judgment At Nuremberg&#8221; opens Friday, March 11 at 7:30PM at the Santa Monica Playhouse and runs on Saturdays at 7:30PM and Sundays at 4PM until April 3.</p>
<p>Film luminary Katharine Ross and soap opera stalwart Drake Hogestyn headline the cast.</p>
